KTDC's five-star resort to come up near Muzhappilangad drive-in-beach

Muzhappilangad beach is the only drive-in beach in Kerala as well as the longest drive-in beach in Asia. Muzhappilangad is a small coastal village near Thalassery. Now, KTDC is planning to give it an overhaul, with their five-star resort that comes with state-of-the-art facilities. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will lay the foundation stone for the five-star resort at Muzhappilangadi on Saturday at 11 am.

KTDC intends to develop Muzhappilangad beach as a major tourism destination and adventure destination. With the coming of the KTDC resort, the importance of Muzhappilangad beach will increase.

The first phase will see the completion of a five-star resort with 40 rooms, a swimming pool, a spa, and restaurant facilities, including 8 suites, on 3.96 acres at a cost of about Rs 39 crore. The plan is to complete the first development projects within 18 months.

A drive through the 4.5-km stretch of beach at Muzhappilangad will change your impression of a traditional beach. For one, it is a very peaceful beach, but it is for those who love adventure. For those people who love to drive and do not mind getting their vehicles wet. And once you experience it, you will love racing on the beach. However, it is ideal to stick to the shores and not get into further into the water if you are using your own vehicle. There are many who come here from across the world to just do stunts on the beach. But they are professionals. You could harm yourself or your vehicle if you try to ape them. The seawater could corrode the metal parts – don't tell us we did not warn you.
