Frankfurt: Giving a big relief for Indian travellers to the USA, the American Consulate at Frankfurt in Germany has arranged facilities to issue US visas. At present, Indian citizens have to wait over a year for US visa interviews at various centres in the country. The new move of the US Consulate in Frankfurt is intended to reduce this waiting period.

According to the US authorities, the interviews of applicants for the B1 (business) and B2 (tourist) visas will be conducted in Frankfurt. In fact, an interview date would be allotted in Frankfurt within three days after the visa application is submitted.

Last year, Indians were also allowed to apply at US consulates in Bangkok. As per reports, US missions in India issued more than 8 lakh non-immigrant visas between January and June this year. Apparently, the figure is around 46% more than the number in 2019.
