Thrissur Pooram officially concluded this year as the Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady Bhagavathis ceremonially bid farewell after standing face to face and exchanging traditional pleasantries. The majestic elephants carrying the idols of the goddesses stood opposite each other at the western gate of the Vadakkunnathan Temple, at the sacred platform of the Sreemoolasthanam.

Following tradition, the goddesses exchanged the customary farewell, saying, “See you at next year’s Pooram.” The elephants raised their trunks in mutual salute. The Lord of Vadakkunnathan Temple and countless Pooram lovers watched this emotional moment, marking the grand finale of the festivities.

The crowd, grateful for the visual and auditory feast, gradually dispersed after witnessing the concluding daytime fireworks display. Next year’s Thrissur Pooram is scheduled for April 26, 2026. The Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady Devaswoms jointly decided the date. The Pooram will come to its official close later tonight with the ceremonial lowering of the flags, marked by devotees lighting the Uthram Vilakku lamps.
