Chennai: Thiruvananthapuram Central – Secunderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express (17229/17230) has been upgraded to superfast express. The Railway Board has approved the recommendation to upgrade the train from September 29 onwards. The train numbers have also changed to 20630 and 20629.

Change in timings
The arrival times of the superfast express at various stations would also be changed. Sabari Express that departs Thiruvananthapuram Central at 6.45 am reaches Secunderabad at 12.45 pm the next day. However, according to the new schedule, the superfast express will arrive at Secunderabad by 11 am. Currently. Sabari Express begins return trip at 12.20 pm. But, from September 29 onwards, Sabari Superfast Express will start at 2.45 pm and reach Thiruvananthapuram by 6.20 pm the next evening.

Change in other train timings
The timings of other trains have also been changed due to the upgrade of the Sabari Express to a superfast express. The time of Dhanbad – Alappuzha Express (13351) between Jolarpetta and Alappuzha has been rescheduled. Besides, there will be changes in the timing of Mangaluru Central – Tambaram Express (16160) between Palakkad and Erode. The new schedules for all trains will be implemented from September 29 onwards. Meanwhile, the timing of Lokmanyatilak – Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express (16345) between Aluva and Thiruvananthapuram will be changed from October 21 onwards.
