Nehru Trophy Boat Race: Book pavilion passes and bus seats via KSRTC budget tourism cell

KSRTC’s budget tourism cell is offering an exciting chance for boat race lovers to enjoy the thrill of the iconic Nehru Trophy Boat Race on a budget. Passengers can book their seats in the bus from various districts to Alappuzha to witness the annual regatta that takes place on Punnamada Lake. The package includes passes for the boat race, as well as travel fare on the KSRTC bus. Buses would be chartered from various depots across the state to Alappuzha as per demand; it also includes entry to either the Race Corner or Victory Line pavilions.

Meanwhile, a special counter will be opened at Alappuzha depot for passengers who arrive in the city to purchase the passes for the boat race. All categories of passes would be available at this counter in Alappuzha. KSRTC’s budget tourism cell was able to sell tickets worth Rs 1,75,100 in 2022 and Rs 2,99,500 in 2023. Although the ticket sales dropped significantly in 2024, after the Nehru Trophy was postponed due to the landslides in Mundakkai, the budget tourism cell still managed to sell tickets worth Rs 1,16,500.

How to book your seats
To book seats and passes, please send your name, the number of passes, and the category of passes to phone number 9846475874 via WhatsApp. The payment could be made using the QR Code generated by the budget tourism cell of Alappuzha. The tickets could be collected either on August 30, the day on which the Nehru Trophy boat race is held or on the previous day from the special counter at Alappuzha depot. Besides Alappuzha, passes are available at KSRTC budget tourism cells’ special counters in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram depots, or you could contact the district coordinators.
