Kochi: The much-awaited Ernakulam – Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express train would be flagged off online by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8. The inauguration ceremony is from 8 am to 8.30 am. He will flag off four Vande Bharat trains at the event held at Varanasi on the same day. Meanwhile, the ceremony will be conducted on platform one at the Ernakulam South Railway Station. Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Central Minister Suresh Gopi, state ministers, MPs and MLAs would attend the ceremonies planned at various stations on the day of the flag off. The train would be given a grand reception at Thrissur and Palakkad stations. 

The inaugural service on November 8 is only till Bengaluru, and the regular service is expected to begin within a few days. The train's fare is also likely to be on a par with Jan Satabdi fares, sources say. The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will have eight coaches. The usual service will depart from Bengaluru KSR station at 5.10 am and reach Ernakulam by 1.50 pm. The return service departs at 2.20 pm and arrives in Bengaluru at 11 pm. The Bengaluru-Ernakulam Vande Bharat trains (26651 and 26652) have six stops between their destinations. 

Other new Vande Bharats
The other three Vande Bharat trains the Prime Minister will flag off are the Varanasi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express, the Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, and the Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat Express. The Varanasi-Khajuraho express will also stop at Chitrakoot, Vindhyachal, Banda Junction, and Mahoba Junction.
