If all goes well, a Vande Bharat service will be launched between Bengaluru's Yesvantpur and Goa's Madgaon via Mangaluru, soon. The Railway Ministry proposed it soon after Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the coastal Vande Bharat Express. The train will take 13 hours and 10 minutes to run its full length. In the Yesvantpur-Madgaon direction, it will depart from Yesvantpur at 6.05 am and reach Madgaon at 7.15 pm. In the return direction, it will leave Madgaon at 5.30 am and reach Yesvantpur at 6.40 pm. Its speed will be below 50 km/h. The train would pass through Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Padil, Thokur, and Udupi before reaching Madgaon.
A few days ago, two Vande Bharat trains were also announced between Coastal Karnataka and Bengaluru. According to reports, two rakes will be deployed on this route, unlike on other routes, to cover a wider area and avoid waiting time. These are in addition to the 12 Vande Bharat trains the state already has. A Bengaluru-Chennai high-speed rail corridor was also recently announced in the Union Budget.
