PM Modi, who visited Kerala today, flagged off a new train service between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Palakkad-Pollachi train service, which will leave the Palakkad railway station at 1.15 pm, will reach Pollachi by 3.30 pm. The eight-car MEMU train (06623) has six stations in between: Palakkad Town, Pudunagaram, Kollengode, Muthalamada, Meentachipuram, and Anaimalai Road. Here are the detailed arrival and departure timings of the train at various stations.

The stations have upgraded buildings, refurbished waiting areas, passenger information systems, platform shelters, free Wi-Fi, lifts, escalators, and lighting.

Trains from Tamil Nadu
The PM will also flag off two Amrit Bharat trains, two express trains and a passenger train from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu. Here are the details:
1) The Podanur-Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express 
2) Nagercoil-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express 
3) Rameswaram-Mangaluru and Tirunelveli-Mangaluru Express Trains. They are expected to open direct routes for pilgrims and coastal travellers across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka

Brand new LHB coaches
Modern LHB coaches have also been allowed for the Mangaluru – Rameshwaram and Mangaluru – Thirunelveli express trains. Although these trains were supposed to carry ICF coaches, the railway ministry had instructed that the modern LBS coaches be attached, as the trains connect important places.

The weekly Rameshwaram Express will have 22 coaches, while the Thirunelveli Express will have 17 coaches. Meanwhile, the Thirunelveli Express has stops at Kovilpatti, Sathoor, Vridhachalam, Madurai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalpetta, Pollachi, Kollangode, Palakkad Town, Palakkad Junction, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod.

The train that departs from Thirunelveli at 3.45 pm on Wednesday reaches Mangaluru by 6.55 am on Thursday. The return trip is on the same day at 1 pm and reaches Thirunelveli at 7.45 am on Friday. This train will have four sleeper coaches, one first AC, two second AC, one third AC, eight general coaches and one divyangan coach.

The Rameshwaram train stops at Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shorannur, Palakkad Junction, Pollachi, Palani, Udumalpet, Paramarakudi, Oddanchatram, Dindigul, Madurai, Manamadurai and Ramanathapuram. This train has seven sleeper coaches, six third AC compartments, two second AC compartments, four general coaches, two luggage cum divyangan coaches and a pantry car. The Rameshwaram Express departs at 7.30 pm on Saturday from Mangaluru reaches Rameshwaram by 11.45 am the next day. The return trip is at 2 pm on the same day and reaches Mangaluru by 5.50 am on Monday.
