Karnataka RTC's new regal buses to Kerala: Features, routes

The Karnataka RTC recently launched 70 brand-new buses in the regal Pallaki range, and they will operate to many major destinations in Kerala as well. Kozhikode, Munnar, Kottayam and Ernakulam are among the various routes for the new buses, which are expected to start services by the end of March. The Pallakki buses, which are non-AC sleepers, also have modern lighting, larger luggage spaces, safety features, ergonomic interiors, and are eligible for the free travel scheme for Karnataka women under the Shakti scheme. The buses also operate to Mangaluru, Mysuru, Agumbe, Chikkamagaluru, Hampi, Puttur, Kukke Subrahmanya, Jamkhandi and more. It is for destinations that are more than 500 km from Bengaluru. The buses have around 30 sleeper berths. 

Along with the Pallakki buses, 45 Karnataka Sarige buses were also launched. By June this year, the authorities plan to launch around 805 new Karnataka Sarige buses as well. The red-and-silver three-plus-two seaters are also comfy and affordable, known for their updated design and modern safety features. 

KSRTC's Bathery weekend special
Kerala RTC’s Bengaluru-Bathery weekend special superfast bus service, which was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed on March 16.  The bus that starts from Bengaluru Satellite terminal at 9.02 am on Mondays reaches Mysuru at 12.07 pm. It will then arrive at Bathery by 3.22 pm via Gundelpet and Muthanga. Meanwhile, the bus from Bathery starts at 9.30 on Sundays and reaches Konichira at 9.50 pm, Nadavayal at 10 pm, Panamaram at 10.10 pm, Mananthawady at 10.40 pm and Mysuru at 2.40 am. It arrives at Bengaluru by 5.20 am. The ticket on this bus costs Rs 472. Although an end-to-end ticketing scheme is in place, reservation facilities are arranged from Konichira, Nadavayal and Panamaram.
