Railways revise train services in Palakkad Division amid track maintenance

The Railways have announced changes in train services in view of track maintenance works at various locations in the Tiruchirappalli–Palakkad division. On April 10, the Palakkad Town–Tiruchirappalli Junction Express (16844) will terminate at Tiruchirappalli Fort instead of completing its scheduled run. On the same day, the Tiruchirappalli Junction–Palakkad Town Express (16843) will originate from Tiruchirappalli Fort at 1.12 pm instead of Tiruchirappalli Junction.

On April 7, 12, 17, 26 and May 3, the Shoranur Junction–Coimbatore Junction Passenger (56604) will remain fully cancelled. Similarly, on April 7, 12 and 17, the Coimbatore Junction–Shoranur Junction Passenger (56603) will also remain fully cancelled. However, on April 25 and May 2, the Coimbatore Junction–Shoranur Junction Passenger (56603) will operate only up to Palakkad Junction. On the same dates, the Nilambur Road–Palakkad Junction Passenger (56608) will terminate at Shoranur Junction. On April 26, the Palakkad Junction–Nilambur Road Passenger (56607) will commence its journey from Ottapalam at 6.44 am, with services cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Ottapalam.

Special trains to Chennai, Santragachi
The railways have announced special trains to Chennai and Santragachi to manage the crowds on these routes. Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram North special (06113) started from Chennai at 11.55 on Thursday and reaches Thiruvananthapuram by 6 pm today. The return trip (06114) is at 5.15 pm on April 5 and reaches Chennai at 11.30 am the next day. The train runs via Kottayam, Ernakulam and Palakkad. Thiruvananthapuram North – Santragachhi special (06081) will operate at 2.15 pm on Fridays until June 5. The train reaches Santragachhi station at 1.45 pm on Sundays. The return trips (06082) are scheduled at 2.15 pm on Mondays and will reach Thiruvananthapuram North by 9.55 am on Wednesdays.
