To accommodate the heavy rush of passengers, railway authorities have announced a special train service between Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. The special services will run later this month, providing major relief to commuters travelling between Karnataka and Kerala.

Timings and schedule
The Bengaluru - Thiruvananthapuram North Express (06569) will depart from Bengaluru at 5.10 pm on August 20 and reach Kochuveli in Thiruvananthapuram at 10 am the following morning. The return service, the Kochuveli-Bengaluru North Express (06570), will depart from Kochuveli at 12.40 pm on August 22 and arrive in Bengaluru at 6 am on August 23.

Key stops and route
The special train will halt at major stations along its route, including Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappally, Kollam and Varkala.

Coach composition
To cater to different categories of travellers, the train will operate with 20 coaches. The composition includes one AC Chair Car, three AC Three-Tier coaches, 10 Sleeper class coaches and four General Second-Class coaches, along with luggage and brake vans.
