Kochi: The students of the Govt. Model Engineering College (MEC), Thrikkakara, paid tribute to the martyers of Pulwama attack at 12.30 pm Wednesday.

The students observed a minute of silent prayer with lit candles during the event organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) branch. It was followed by the recital of the National Anthem.

Principal Vinu Thomas led the students during the event and the air resonated with 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogans.

About 40 CRPF soldiers were killed when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus in Pulwama district on February 14.

The country is still grieving the death of these 40 soldiers, who were on their way to Srinagar to report for duty after leave.
