Thiruvananthapuram: Several students are raising a demand to get approval to report at any of the engineering colleges in their districts for the KEAM 2020 admission processes, rather than at their allotted colleges. This is in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After publishing the engineering second phase allotment, students will have to remit the fee and get the certificates verified at the allotted colleges.
The second allotment results have been rescheduled to October 23.
However, complaints have been raised that this would be difficult for students to travel to the allotted colleges amid the COVID-19 crisis.
If students were allowed to remit the fee and get the certificates verified at any of the colleges in their own districts, the travel hassle would be reduced to some extent.
This can be implemented as a centralised software is being used for the process. A similar facility was extended to students during the KTU exams this year due to the pandemic.
Several students who complete the admission process are likely to get better colleges/courses in the next allotment. They will then have to cancel the current admission and seek admission at the new colleges.
