New Delhi: The result of the first session of the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other engineering colleges has been announced. While six students scored 100 percentile, Fayiz Hashim was the topper among the students from Kerala with a score of 99.987. Fayiz also secured the third rank in the OBC category at the all-India level.

The result is available on the websites nta.ac.inntaresults.nic.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting JEE Main, will hold three more sessions of the exam in March, April and May. Candidates can appear for more than one session and their best score would be considered for deciding the rank.

The final rank-list will be published only after the result of the final session of JEE Main is announced.

Fayiz, who studied at Devamatha CMI Public School, is the son of V M Hashim and Raziya of East Gramam, Wadakkanchery in Thrissur district.

NTA scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session.

The next phases of the exam will be held in March, April and May.
