PG medical allotment: Last date extended to Jan 23

Thiruvananthapuram: The last date for submitting the application and online option for the centralised allotment to post-graduate medical courses has been extended by one day. Earlier, the last date was announced as 22 January. However, it has now been extended up to 5 pm on 23 January.

The much-delayed PG medical admissions commenced on January 12. The counselling is based on the rank list of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Postgraduate), 2021.

The time slots were earlier announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

This year's admission to PG medical courses across the country was delayed owing to a litigation on the income limit for reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Delays owing to COVID-19 pandemic were another factor.

Almost 1.6 lakh young doctors are expecting PG admissions this year in the All-India Quota.
