CUET – UG began today; first phase on 16, 19 and 20 July

New Delhi: The Common University Entrance Test – UG for admission to more than ninety institutes in the country, including the central universities began today.

With more than 14.9 lakh applicants, CUET – UG is the second largest entrance test in the country. Meanwhile, the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test – UG that usually clocks more than 18 lakh applicants is the biggest entrance exam.

The authorities informed that 98% of the applicants have been allowed exam centres in their own hometowns. The first phase of exam will be held today and tomorrow and on 19 and 20 July too.

Meanwhile, the second phase has been scheduled from 4 to 10 August. Around 8.1 lakh applicants will be writing the exam in the first phase while 6.8 lakh candidates will be attending the second phase.

The authorities noted that the Science subjects in CUET – UG would be held only in the second phase as the NEET – UG exams has been scheduled on 17th of this month.

However, many applicants have expressed concerns that they were allotted exam centres in distance places.
