ISC Class 12 results: Shivani, Adhish of Christ Nagar School toppers in Kerala

New Delhi: Shivani Prabhu and Adhish Joseph Shin have emerged as the toppers in Kerala in the Class 12 Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations as per the results announced on Sunday. Both of them are students of the Christ Nagar School in Thiruvananthapuram and secured 99.5 per cent (398 marks out of 400) each.

Sasthamangalam resident Shivani is the daughter of G Rekha and N Sreenivasan, a scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre at Thumba. Adhish is the son of Vattiyoorkavu residents Shinu Joseph and Dhanus.

The overall pass percentage for ISC is 99.38 per cent nationally, while it is 99.96 per cent in Kerala. Of the 2,764 students who wrote the exam from the 69 schools in the state, 2,763 have qualified to pursue higher studies.

Five students, who scored 99.25 per cent, finished second in the state. They are K Gautham Krishna (Loyola School in Thiruvananthapuram), Diya Merin Edgar (Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Thiruvananthapuram), Anagha M Nair (Christ Nagar School in Thiruvananthapuram), P S Devi and Adarsh Ramachandran (both students of the Christ Vidyanikethan at Irinjalakuda).

A total of 18 students, who secured 99.75 per cent (399 marks), shared the all-India first rank. Of the 96,940 students who wrote the exam from across the country, 96,340 have qualified for higher studies. Eighteen of the 180 differently-abled students and 6 of the 12 visually challenged secured over 90 per cent marks.

Formula to calculate marks

In the ISC class 12 examination, the marks of both the semesters were added as per a specific formula to determine the final marks. The final score was determined by adding half of the first semester marks to the marks of the second semester exam and project/practical exam, the Council secretary Gerry Arathoon explained.
