New Delhi: The Delhi Police has begun an investigation into claims that the admission process of the Delhi University has been compromised.
As per a tip-off the university’s website was hacked in a bid to fraudulently secure admission.
Meanwhile, the police stated that these allegations haven’t been confirmed and the investigation was just to clear the suspicions.
However, the DU authorities said that three or four candidates had tried to ensure admission by changing their marks. The university cancelled their admission after the information submitted by the students didn’t match the marks given by the agency that conducted the exam.
Admission to the graduate courses at DU is based on the Common University Entrance Test. After the first round of allotment, around 59,100 candidates had ensured admission.
DU authorities said that the documents of every student were thoroughly inspected before finalizing the admission process.
