Not many youngsters are aware that learning a foreign language other than English would be highly beneficial for their career as well as offer more academic opportunities. Advantages of such an effort include employment abroad with good pay packets. Moreover, knowledge of the local language is mandatory to work and pursue higher education in many countries.
It is in this backdrop that Manorama Horizon, the education portal of Malayala Manorama, is organising online classes on German, the second most spoken language in Europe, during this vacation.
The three-day course, arranged jointly with Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum, will familiarise participants with the basic aspects of German. The content covers German alphabets, pronunciation and framing of simple sentences.
Completion of the course will help participants greet others in German, introduce others in the language, speak about their families and explain their hobbies. Apart from job seekers, the course would benefit students dreaming about higher studies in Germany.
School and college students as well as any person wishing to study German can join the online classes, which are arranged on April 27, 28 and 29, from 7-9 pm.
