New Delhi: A total of 3,837 candidates from Kerala have applied to undergraduate programmes offered by Delhi University this time.

The varsity will release the first merit list for 71,000 seats on Tuesday.

The general assessment is that the candidates will find the admission process tough given the higher cut-off marks in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG).

Following the closure of the registration on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), the Kirori Mal College (KMC) emerged as the most preferred one with 1,61, 533 applicants, closely followed by the Hindu College (1,85, 548), the Hansraj College (1,57, 162) and Ramjas College (1,56,068).

The candidates have the opportunity to finalise admission to the seats allotted from 5 pm today to 5 pm on August 4. The colleges will finalise the admission process on August 5.

The fees can be remitted till 5 pm on August 6. The second allotment list for vacant seats will be published on August 7.

Following is the classification of applications received in terms of the education board:

CBSE (1,98,490); CISCE (9,413); Bihar Board (7,880); UP Board (7,622); Rajasthan (3568); Haryana (2,490); Kerala (2,354), Jammu Kashmir Board (1,636), Madhya Pradesh Board (1,595) and Jharkhand Board (1,267).
