Kollam: A youth slit the throat of a 16-year-old girl with a blade after barging into her house here on Friday.
The family members and neighbours of the girl overpowered the 24-year-old man and handed him over to the police.
The youth entered the house through the backdoor and attacked the girl around 4 pm.
The girl was rushed to a hospital and had her wound sutured.
Iravipuram police have registered a case against the youth and started a probe. It is not known what provoked him to commit the crime.
