New Delhi: Even as Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was adjudged best actor by the jury of the 64th national award, for his role in the Hindi film Rustom, Malayalam actor Mohanlal will walk home with a larger purse.
Mohanlal won the special jury mention for his roles in films Janatha Garage (Telegu), Pulimurugan and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol(Malayalam).
Akhay Kumar will get the Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus), a citation, and a cash prize of Rs 50,000; while Mohanlal will get a purse of Rs two lakh, Rajat Kamal, and a citation.

The jury made it clear that the winner of the special jury mention should be awarded the amount and Rajat Kamal as per the National Award guidelines.
