Aashiq Abu dubs AMMA as mafia

Director Aashiq Abu has come out in praise for the four leading actresses, including an actress who was assaulted in 2017, who resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Actors, AMMA, on Wednesday to protest against welcoming back actor Dileep to the body.

In the wake of the incident, Abu said, “Just to make their life at convienece some people came together and made a club called AMMA. It is hard to call AMMA as an organisation rather it has become a mafia group.”

“How could AMMA take a decision to include an accused when the victim too was their own member. What these actresses have done today should have been done earlier. It is indeed a historic decision that they made," he said.
