Actor Dileep has opined that those behind the film Ennu Ninte Moideen should work to make B P Moideen Seva Mandir a reality and Kanchanamala must shed her resistance to this idea. Kanchanamala had said that she was not angry with the makers of the film, but their actions encouraged her to think about suicide.
The opinions by Dileep and Kanchanamala were exchanged during a function that marked the stone-laying ceremony for the BP Moideen Seva Mandir. Dileep said that he ventured to offer support for the idea when he saw that none were coming forward for it. However, he came to know of bigger issues when he was involved with it. He added that he had a word with the main lead and director of the film on legal issues surrounding the initiative.
Dileep said that the film eulogised the love of Kanchanamala, but things have reached such as stage that the film’s workers and Kanchanamala were not in talking terms. He urged her to withdraw her case and hoped all would work together to see the fruition of her dreams.
Saying that she had no issues with film workers, Kanchanamala said that she did not expect this kind of treatment from R S Vimal, the director. Even when the film was being shot, she did not get a copy of the script even though she asked for it many times.
"Some scenes that were included in the film, such as workers assaulting her father, were not anything close to reality," Kanchanamala alleged, "But when I called up the producer, he said that the offending scenes would be cut and provided the script for me to read."
"However, Vimal came and collected the script from me by force," she added.
Later it was known that the producer had changed. When Vimal was not available on phone, her sister filed a case with the court not knowing how the story would pan out when it was filmed.
Meanwhile, it was known that the number that Vimal had given her was not his. Kanchanamala said that she had not seen the film but her sister said that the film was all right.
"Even though the case is still in court, Vimal and others can come to the Seva Mandir. However, it is the stain in their minds that prevent them from doing so," she added.
An organisation started by Kanchanamala, B.P. Moideen Seva Mandir functions from a dilapidated shed near Mukkam in Kozhikode.
Ennu Ninte Moideen is a blockbuster hit and continues to run to packed houses across the state.
