Television anchor Ramya, who made her acting debut with Mani Ratnam's OK Kanmani, has stressed that the movie is not the reason for her divorce.
Earlier, when the actress revealed on Twitter that she and husband Jayaraman are parting ways, reports were doing the rounds that the reason for divorce was her decision to act in OK Kanmani, to which her husband and his family had not agreed.
Ramya, who played the role of Dulquer Salman’s friend in OK Kanmani, got married in February 2014 and filed for divorce in May 2015.
Talking to a leading daily, Ramya stated that she realised her marriage was not going in the right direction after the first 10 days itself. The actress also noted that Mani Ratnam's offer came much later; seven months after her marriage.
"If people think so, it's false. I don't want to disclose why we are getting a divorce. I got so many offers after OK Kanmani but I didn't take up any,” Ramya said.
