Music maestro AR Rahman has donated Rs 1 crore for flood relief activities in Kerala. Sharing a photo on his Twitter page, Rahman announced that he and his team of artists have donated the money to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

“From my artistes and me touring the USA... To our brothers and sisters of Kerala! May this small offering help in providing you some relief!” (sic.) He tweeted.

Currently, Rahman is on a concert tour in the United States of America. The composer will be back home by September 5 and will be attending the music launch of Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'.

Kerala was badly hit by heavy rain and widespread floods last month. Till August 31, the CM’s relief fund had garnered over Rs 1,000 crore in the form of donations.
