Employees of the popular Kochi eatery Karthiyayini were busy as usual during lunchtime when they noticed a familiar face.
After the initial shock, they realised that the customer was none other than the Telugu superstar Mohan Babu. The superstar had dropped in to taste the popular fish items for which Karthiyayini is famed.
Mohan Babu, who loves his food spicy, ordered Kalanji Mulakittathu (spicy barramundi curry), tiger prawn and fish with meals. Karthiyayini Hotel’s owner Jajeena Vinu told Manorama Online that the superstar had promised to return just to have meals and the fish items from her hotel. Mohan Babu loved the fish eggs and commented that they were hard to get in Andhra, Jajeena said.
Previously, another Telugu superstar Nani had also visited the hotel. During the visit, Nani had said that he visited Karthiyayini every time he comes to Kochi. Mohan Babu was in Kochi as part of the promotion of his big budget, pan-India movie Kannappa.
Telugu actor and Mohan Babu’s son Vishnu Manju is the hero of the movie. The movie boasts a big star cast including Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Prabhu Deva, Sarath Kumar and Mukesh Rishi. The film has been produced under the combined banners of Mohan Babu’s 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainments.
