Ingredients
1.5 cups wheat flour
½ cup semolina
¾ cup thick jaggery syrup
1 banana
¼ tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sesame seeds
¼ cup coconut shards
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ghee
Oil/ghee to fry
Preparation
Take the wheat flour, semolina, a pinch of salt, jaggery syrup and banana in a mixer jar
Blend well into smooth batter
Transfer this into a bowl
Add cumin seeds, sesame seeds, coconut shards and a tsp of ghee, mix well
Keep the batter aside for 5 minutes
After that, add the baking soda
Heat oil/ghee in an unniyappam mould
Pour a spoonful of batter into each hole
Flip when one side is nicely cooked
Enjoy the instant unniyappam as an evening snack.
