Gooseberry sambaram to lift your spirits in punishing summers

Indian gooseberry aka amla has its share of lovers and haters, thanks to its peculiar tart taste. However, its health benefits beckon everyone to give this easily available, cute green fruit the deserving attention.

Did you know that a refreshing sambharam could be made with gooseberry, giving the traditional idea of buttermilk or sambharam a twist? Here's an easy recipe with all things that can be easily picked from your kitchen counter.

Ingradients
5 big gooseberries
1 green chili
1 small piece ginger
5 sprigs curry leaves
½ tsp lemon juice
Salt as required

Preparation
Remove the seeds of the gooseberries
Blend the gooseberries along with the rest of the ingredients in a mixer jar
Add 2 glasses of cold water
Strain and enjoy the samabaram
