Noufal, an expatriate had purchased 36 cents land in his hometown in Changaramkulam, Malappuram district in Kerala to build his dream home. He roped in noted architect Subeesh who had designed his brother’s house too. Interestingly, Noufal who runs a successful business abroad hasn’t got a chance to see his dream abode yet.
This house could be aptly called as an ‘abode built via smartphone’. He oversaw the construction and gave instructions mostly through WhatsApp calls and through Botim video calls.
The structure has been designed to suit the ‘T’ shaped plot. Interestingly, the structure is built in the widest part of the plot while the front yard and the driveway are designed in a narrow strip.
The elevation with flat roof and tile paved GI truss work is perfect for the tropical climate of Kerala. The outer walls mostly don the serene charm of the white hue. Meanwhile, the laterite-clad show walls set the perfect contrast here. The front yard paved with tandoor stones, verdant lawns and the beautiful garden makes the landscape look incredibly attractive.
Designed in 4000 sqft, this palatial mansion has a sit-out, formal and family living areas, dining space, courtyard, kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms on the ground floor. Meanwhile, there are two more bedrooms and a balcony on the upper floor.
The mini courtyard has been separated with MS sheet walls that are enhanced with splendid CNC cutting designs, just beside the sit-out.
The staircase is the highlight of the interiors. Teak wood panelling has been done RCC structure to design this interesting staircase. A study space has been separated in the first landing of the stairway.
Exquisite Italian marble has been used for flooring in the common areas. Meanwhile, wooden flooring has been done in the bedrooms. The readymade furniture pieces in teak finish gels well with the general theme of the house.
From the dining area, one could enter the courtyard through the patio. The courtyard that receives golden sunshine and rain showers boasts of a spectacular ambience. Artificial grass has been paved on the floor here. Meanwhile, grille too is installed for additional safety.
The bedrooms could give any luxury resort a run for their money. The teak wood panelling on the head side wall is enhanced with texture painting too. The bath-attached bedrooms have wardrobes and separate dressing spaces.
The kitchen cupboards, meanwhile, are done in acrylic with laminate finish. Nano white has been paved on the countertops. An adjacent work area completes the modern kitchen.
The family eagerly waits to come to Kerala to celebrate the housewarming ritual and move into their dream home as soon as possible.
