This is the tale of a beautiful abode that stands as a symbol of love and bond between two brothers. Even though the plot was purchased jointly by the brothers, it was the elder brother who decided to build his dream home on one side of the plot. Meanwhile, the house was designed by the younger brother who is a renowned architect. The house at Vazhakkad in Malappuram, Kerala owned by Shameen and Shamla is designed by his brother Fajas and his wife Fathima. Interestingly, the architect couple too plan to build their house in the same plot.

The structure has been designed in such a way to greet the cool breeze that wafts in from the green bed of paddy fields around. The windows in this house open to the scintillating views of this green haven. The plot was raised, after checking the flood levels of 2018, in order to prevent the rainwater from gushing into the plot during the heavy monsoons. Meanwhile, the elevation features a tropical style with multiple levels of roof.

Designed in 2800 sqft, this amazing abode has a sit-out, living and dining areas, a courtyard, a kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms on the ground floor. Besides, the upper floor has two more bedrooms and a balcony too. As the family is settled abroad, they will be living here only during the holidays. So, minimal furnishing has been done to make maintenance hassle-free.

The yellow-hued couch adds a pleasant pop of colour in the formal living area. Meanwhile, the ceiling has been done in a rustic cement finish.

The courtyard in double height is the highlight of the house. This area is decorated with beautiful indoor plants adding a hint of greenery. Interestingly, the wash area too is arranged here. The windows are smartly placed to bring lots of natural sunshine into the house. You could grab the view of the courtyard from almost all the areas in the house. Besides, this acts as a common space that connects both floors.

The dining table set that can accommodate up to six guests is quite simple. The circular window on the adjacent wall here is truly an eye-catching feature.

The open kitchen is simple and opens to the dining area as well as the courtyard. The main cooking is done in the work area.

The bedrooms are designed with lots of storage areas including full-length wardrobes.

The mesmerizing nature outside plays a pivotal role in filling the interiors with a positive ambience.
