Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults. People with ADHD typically have difficulties with attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity, which can interfere with their daily functioning and development. A few recent studies suggest that ADHD could pose challenges in the sexual life of people as well.
How was the study conducted?
The study, conducted jointly by the University of British Columbia in Canada, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the University of Calgary, involved 943 participants. One hundred six among them had been diagnosed with ADHD. Analysing their responses, the researchers observed that people with ADHD face sexual challenges than others.
Problems weren’t identified in the first stages of intercourse, like sexual interest, drive, and the body getting ready for the act. However, the report states that challenges arise during orgasm.
