After a cloudburst triggered flash floods in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi area on Tuesday, the death toll in the incident has just reached five. Many are still stranded in various parts of the affected area and are also reported missing. According to the state CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, around 190 people have been rescued so far. Meanwhile, the government has also deployed mental health experts to provide psychological support to victims in the aftermath of the incident. They will counsel people at the relief camps and hospitals, working alongside the local administration.
Even in the past, victims of the previous floods in the state had reportedly experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms, like flashbacks of the trauma, survivor's guilt and amnesia.
