Mumbai: Malayala Manorama has yet again topped the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) as the regional language newspaper with the highest number of readers.
Manorama had 159.99 lakh readers, according to IRS 2017. The rank is based on average daily readership.
Manorama is the only regional language newspaper among the top five of the IRS list, with the other four positions going to Hindi publications.
Manorama has also topped all English newspapers on readership.
Vanitha, published by the Malayala Manorama group, was the Indian fortnightly with the highest readership, with total readers of 61.26 lakh.
From Malabar to Travancore, the Manorama newspaper came top in all regions of Kerala.
The paper also led the readership charts in cities such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Malappuram.
According to IRS 2017, Manorama had as many as 41.51 lakh more readers than its nearest competitor in Malayalam.
