Monipally: The residents of a small village in Kottayam district have come together to garner funds for the treatment of a one-year-old girl diagnosed with cancer.
Aparna Rajesh was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago as she underwent tests at the Institute of Child Health, Kottayam. She was then moved to the Regional Cancer Centre.
She is the daughter of T R Rajesh and Sharanya, residents of Monipally.
Rajesh, who works as a mason and is the sole bread-winner of the family that also includes his ailing parents, finds it hard to meet the expenses of the child's treatment. Local people have decided for a mass fund-raising.
