New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh has paid glowing tributes to senior journalist D Vijayamohan, who passed away last year.
"More than a journalist, Vijayamohan was an academic, a political observer and a keen learner," Jairam Ramesh said.
He was speaking at an event held to commemorate the first death anniversary of D Vijayamohan, who was the senior coordinating editor of Malayala Manorama in Delhi. The event was organised by Kerala Media Academy and the Delhi unit of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).
"During the 30 years of acquaintance, I was able to maintain a close relationship with D Vijayamohan for 17 years," the Rajya Sabha MP said.
CPM politburo member M A Baby recalled that Vijayamohan worked dedicatedly and would immerse himself even in the smallest of tasks.
The book 'D Vijayamohan: Kalavum Kayyoppum', published by the Kerala Media Academy, was unveiled during the event. Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas presided over the event. Binoy Viswam MP, KK Shailaja MLA, BJP leader R Balashankar, senior journalists N Ashokan and Jossy Joseph, The Week senior coordinating editor R Prasannan, Asianet News Delhi resident editor Prasanth Reghuvamsom, Deepika associate editor George Kallivayalil, Media Academy secretary NP Santhosh, KUWJ executive member V Harikrishnan, Babu Panicker, and Sudheer Nath also spoke during the event.
