Manorama Chief Editor Mammen Mathew presented the award, comprising a gold medal and Rs 50,000, to Tony Jose.
The event was organised by Kerala Media Academy and the Delhi unit of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).
He was the director and chief creative officer of the Mindway Design. He was instrumental in experimenting new techniques in newspaper designing, typography and graphic design.
Schools from both within and outside Kerala can also take part. Last date for school registration is November 20.
The award has been given posthumously taking into account Vijayamohan's contribution in the field of media in his three decade-old career.
Yesudasan, known for his political cartoons, had been active in the field for six decades and rose to the ranks of the most prominent cartoonists in India.
As a token of appreciation, a gold medal of seven sovereigns was presented to him by Malayala Manorama Editor Philip Mathew.
