Thodupuzha: The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Thodupuzha has ordered police to register a case against former MLA and BJP National Executive Committee member PC George for allegedly making communal remarks against Jawaharlal Nehru during an event marking the 50th anniversary of the Emergency.

The programme was organised by the non-profit group, HRDS India. Youth Congress State General Secretary ST Aneesh Kattakkada initially filed a police complaint and later approached the court, seeking action against George and HRDS India secretary Aji Krishnan.

Public Prosecutor informed the court that George’s remarks warranted a case, after which the court ordered police action. Thodupuzha SHO S Mahesh Kumar confirmed that both PC George and Aji Krishnan will face charges related to the incident.
