Hello
The Ernakulam District and Sessions Court dismissed the bail plea moved by George fearing arrest after Kochi City Police Commissioner C H Nagaraju said he would be arrested for repeating his offence in violation of the bail conditions.
The court allowed the request of George's lawyer -- advocate Ajith Kumar -- for time to file objections and listed the matter on May 17.
The Ernakulam Palarivattom police booked the leader for the hate speech against a particular community at the Saptaha Yajna event at Vannala Mahadeva Temple.
According to the prosecution, bail was granted to George without hearing its version, which was a violation of the rules.
George, however, withdrew his controversial statement against NRI business baron and LuLu Group Chairman MA Yusuff Ali.
It was under state police chief Anil Kant's direction that Fort police registered a case against the leader.
Youth League state gen secy P K Firos had on Saturday lodged a complaint with the CM and DGP against George for insulting the community.
The plea said that one event was organised in Haridwar by Yati Narsinghanand and the other in Delhi by 'Hindu Yuva Vahini' allegedly "calling for genocide of members" of a community.
The move comes days after she was questioned by the Joint Committee of Parliament on Data Protection Bill.
The plea challenged the September 10 and 18 notices issued by the committee that sought Mohan's presence before the panel which is probing the Delhi riots in February and Facebook's role in the spread of alleged hate speeches.
