Kottayam: A group of Class 10 students from Inchiyani Holy Family School in Kanjirappally took it upon themselves to fix a dangerous pothole on the Pinnakkanad–Parathodu Road after months of struggle. Saurav V Suresh, Astin Johnson, and Ebin Sibi worked together to fill the massive crater using shovels and sand on Saturday after school hours.
Tired of having their uniforms drenched with muddy water every day, the students decided to act when no official action was taken. The stretch from Parathodu Junction to Pazhhadam Estate has been plagued by potholes for a long time. Water got collected in these craters during monsoon, becoming an issue for students and pedestrians. Recently, a motorcyclist fell into one of these water-filled craters.
