Kottarakkara: One person was killed after the car he was driving lost control, rammed into electric poles and plunged into a depth. The deceased has been identified as Anu Vaishakh of Vaishakhhil House, Puthoor.
The accident occurred around 1:30 AM on the MC Road near the Kodiyattu temple in Injakkadu. The car, which was heading towards Adoor from Kottarakkara, veered off to the right side of the road, hit a couple of electric poles and the temple boards, before plunging into a deep area. The mangled remains of the vehicle had to be cut open to rescue the injured driver. Though he was rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Anu Vaishakh was employed in the marketing wing of a private firm in Chathannoor.
Following the accident, power cables snapped in the region, causing a major disruption in electricity supply. New power poles were installed by yesterday evening. Anu Vaishakh’s mother, Shailaja, is a lab instructor at the Matha Vocational Higher Secondary School in Vilakkupara, Anchal.
