Kozhikode: Two elderly sisters were found dead at their residence in Florikkan Road near Thadambattu Thazham in Kozhikode. The deceased are Sreejaya (72) and Pushpa (68), both natives of Nadakkav.
The police said that their brother, Pramod (63), who also lived with them and is currently missing, is suspected of murdering the women. He has been absconding since the incident.
The sisters' bodies were found around 8 am on Saturday at their rented home. Their deaths were confirmed to be a case of homicide following a postmortem, an officer at the Chevayur Police station said.
The officer added that the police are investigating the case and are searching for the accused, Pramod. The sisters' bodies have been cremated.
