Changanassery police station is getting a new building inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Changanassery: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the construction of the new police station building at Changanassery. The online inauguration will be held at 3.30 pm on August 12, with a live screening at the event organised at the Arikkathil Auditorium.

Minister V N Vasavan will preside over the meeting, and MLA Job Michael will be the chief speaker. The new station will be constructed on the police quarters plot near the DySP office, with the Public Works Department overseeing the project.

Building cost: ₹3.5 crore
The police station will be built at a cost of ₹3.5 crore allocated in the 2023–24 budget. According to MLA Job Michael, it will be the most expensive police station building in Kerala.

Modern interrogation room
The facility will include a modern interrogation room equipped with advanced devices to detect even the minutest movements or sounds made by the accused. Senior officers will be able to monitor the process from a separate room and relay instructions to the interrogating officer through headphones. The room will also have 24-hour camera surveillance and sound recording, with the collected audio-visual data aiding investigations and court proceedings.
