Hello
In addition to a slew of measures already announced this week, a few more were introduced that saw the number of people at gatherings slashed yet again.
With this, the number of active COVID cases in the state rose to 63,650. Of the new cases, 7,226 contracted the virus through contact while 238 came from outside the state.
'For the past one year practically every day we all saw Pinarayi holding press conferences speaking on how Covid protocols should be followed,' the union minister pointed out.
It was on April 8, two days after voting in the Assembly polls, that Pinarayi revealed he had tested positive for coronavirus.
Controversies are not new to K T Jaleel. No other minister in the Pinarayi Vijayan-led cabinet had triggered more rows like Jaleel.
Pinarayi had received the first jab of the COVID-19 a few days before he fell sick, though he didn't exhibit its symptoms.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan continues to be under medical observation at the Kozhikode Medical College hospital since Thursday, when he turned Covid positive. His condition is stable.
The CM said the stock which was left with Kerala is sufficient for conducting vaccination for the next three days only.
Official documents reveal that Jaleel had the approval of the chief minister to alter the educational qualifications for appointing the minister’s close relative, K T Adeeb.
In his complaint, Satheesan Pacheni said the chief minister’s statement was in violation of the third paragraph, part one of the code of conduct, which barred requests or references that would appeal to religious or caste sentiments for electoral benefits.
