Kozhikode: Pramod (63), suspected of murdering his sisters Sreejaya (72) and Pushpa (68), was found dead in the Kuyyali river, about one kilometre from Thalassery beach.
The body, identified by a relative, was shifted to Thalassery Taluk Hospital. The post-mortem examination will be conducted on Tuesday to determine the cause of death. Police had been searching for Pramod after suspecting his involvement, as he allegedly contacted a relative to inform them that one of his sisters had died on Sunday. He was on the run since the incident.
The sisters, both natives of Nadakkav, were found dead at their rented home on Florikkan Road near Thadambattu Thazham around 8 am on Saturday. A post-mortem examination confirmed that the deaths were homicides. Police said Pramod, who lived with them, had disappeared immediately after the murders. Chevayur Police are continuing their investigation. The sisters’ bodies have been cremated.
