Nadapuram: Police have arrested the woman accused of snatching the gold chain of an infant, who was with its mother at a bus stand two and a half months ago.

She had recently been caught by locals in Vadakara while attempting to steal the gold chain of another woman passenger and is currently under remand at the Kannur Women’s Jail. After confirming her role in the Nadapuram case, the police recorded her arrest at the jail.

According to police, Manju is an accused in two theft cases registered in Vadakara. The theft at Nadapuram took place on June 4. Police said she will be taken into custody for detailed interrogation. The woman who lost the chain has also identified Manju as the culprit, Sub Inspector M P Vishnu said.
