22 injured as tourist bus overturns in Malappuram

Malappuram: Around 22 people were injured after a private tourist bus carrying a wedding party overturned near Kailas Auditorium in Kuttipuram on Sunday. Five people, including a child, sustained serious injuries, though none are reported to be in critical condition.

The bus, which was travelling from Kottakkal to Chamravattam with about 45 passengers on board, is believed to have lost balance while giving way to an oncoming vehicle. The accident occurred around 12.10 pm.

The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Kuttippuram, Valanchery, and Kottakkal.

Kuttippuram police reached the spot, and efforts are underway to remove the vehicle and ease traffic congestion in the area.
