Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday approved a new initiative, ‘Mukhyamantri Ennodoppam’ (CM With Me), aimed at strengthening communication between the government and the people and ensuring active public participation in governance.

At the core of the program will be an integrated Citizen Connect Centre, designed to make governance more inclusive, transparent, and responsive. The government emphasised that citizens are not mere recipients of development but active partners in shaping the state’s future.

Objectives

  • Provide easy access to information on government initiatives, welfare schemes, sectoral projects, and the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
  • Collect and analyse public feedback to improve schemes, reduce delays, and ensure accountability.
  • Invite citizen suggestions on key areas such as housing, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
  • Ensure timely resolution of grievances and issues raised.
  • Strengthen transparency through a sustainable communication framework.
  • Act as a reliable service mechanism during emergencies by streamlining disaster relief communication and enabling quick delivery of government assistance.

Implementation
Experienced government officials will manage the initiative. The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) has been entrusted with providing technology, infrastructure, and manpower support. Government employees, including KAS officers, will be deployed on a working arrangement basis, while all India service officers will oversee supervision under the direction of the Chief Secretary.
