The Kerala High Court allows P.V. Anvar's impleading petition in ADGP assets case involving M.R. Ajithkumar.

Kochi: The disproportionate assets case against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar took a major turn as the Kerala High Court allowed the impleading petition filed by former MLA P V Anvar on Wednesday. Anvar had filed the petition in response to a plea filed by Ajith Kumar challenging a Special Court's decision to prosecute him.

Justice A Badharudheen allowed the petition, thereby impleading Anvar as an additional 3rd party. This came after the contention raised by Anvar that it was his own complaint to the Chief Minister while he was serving as an MLA that led to the investigation. He raised allegations of large-scale corruption, fraud, embezzlement and anti-national activities, which he alleges Ajith Kumar conspired with certain officials and non-officials.

In objection to the impleadment, the petitioner claimed that Anvar is in the habit of raising totally false and baseless allegations against persons of his choice, motivated by his selfish interests, which stems from his inability to achieve his unjust objectives. However, the court held that allowing the impleadment and hearing of Anvar while considering the case was in the interest of justice.
