Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife while she was undergoing treatment at Sree Uthradom Thirunal Hospital (SUT), Pattom, before attempting suicide.
The deceased, Jayanthi (63), a kidney patient from Karakulam, was found dead in Room 218 between 1.00 am and 4.30 am on October 9. According to the FIR, her husband, Bhasuran, killed her over financial difficulties related to her medical treatment, strangling her with a cable before attempting suicide by jumping from the hospital’s upper floor.
Jayanthi had been admitted on October 1 for treatment, including dialysis. Bhasuran was hospitalised following the suicide attempt and later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
